Day 1 - Baked New York Cheesecake

05 July 2010

I managed to raise a total of $21.60 of which $10 came from someone who didn't even have a piece of cake - I realised that's a big FAIL for a campaign launch! not to mention the donations from cake-eaters doesn't even cover baking costs that I'm donating out of pocket... a little sad, but the positive feedback I’ve received from some people will keep me going!

So, in order to get anywhere near my goal of raising US$5000 by 1st October 2010 I need to revise my strategy by precutting my cakes and setting a price.

Since I'm giving up my real 27th birthday this year and instead of gifts, I'm asking my friends for a $27 donation to go towards my campaign. I've priced my cakes this time at a minimum donation of $2.70/piece – still cheaper than a muffin/cake from downstairs!

Remember, you don’t just get CAKE!..... 100% of the money you donate will help towards

1. Making my birthday wish come true
2. Giving safe drinking water to people
3. Offsetting the guilt on sugar consumption knowing you are making a difference!

Now, how is that for value?!
So please keep craving cake and help me help the seriously thirsty!
