Introduction

No, it's actually not my birthday today, but there is CAKE! and will be EVERYDAY* for the next three months!

Why?!

Please read on...
Have you ever said, "I'm dying of thirst?"
If so, I bet you didn't really mean it.

Would you drink this?!
If you're like me, you don't spend too much time thinking about water - it's everywhere we go. When we're thirsty, we flip a handle or push a button. When we're dirty, we twist a shower knob. When our garden needs watering, when our pasta needs to be boiled, when we use the bathroom - water's just there for the taking. But for a billion people on the planet, it's not. Millions of women and children have to walk hours each day to get water from muddy ponds and rivers. And much of that water is infested with parasites and leeches. In fact, 80% of all diseases in the world are caused by unsafe drinking water and lack of sanitation - that's more deaths than war!

Women and children walking 5km + to collect dirty water
I've been looking around for something worthwhile to do and came across this cause I think everyone can agree on and combined it with my baking obsession. When I learned that only $20 can give someone clean, safe water for two decades, I decided to start a campaign to help, and devised a plan that would utilize my compulsive baking behaviour. So I've decided to bake to give people something they absolutely cannot do without - the most basic of health needs. And the cool thing about charity: water is that they spend 100% of the money I raise directly on the water projects and all donors will be able to view where their money went to with GPS coordinates on Google Earth once it’s built within 12-18months!!

Yay! let's build a well!!!!!!
By giving these people clean water, they will be able to grow their own vegetables, feed their cows, the children will have time to go to school and the women can help earn the much needed second income... clean water will give these people a chance!

I've never actually been dying of thirst. And if you're like me, you'd like to see a world where no one does. Please support my "birthday campaign" and I hope together we can make a little difference in the global water crisis.

I'm a bit nervous about how this will pan out, but I hope everyone will be craving cake and feeling generous! I’m not sure how much a cake everyday* for 3 months is worth, but I think being able to give a whole community safe drinking water for the next 20 years is priceless!

Clean water should be a human right!
If your birthday happens to be in the next three months, I'll be glad to take cake orders in return for a donation and take the fuss out of your birthday this year. (Naomi has already commissioned me for her upcoming birthday cake, thank you!)

*Baking everyday will depend on the response and how much sugar everyone can take, but I can promise it will definitely be more frequent than usual!
*All donations made online is in $USD, sorry it’s only tax deductable in the US/UK, but you get CAKE!
Please help!
